Generalized Anxiety

Anxiety also called GAD is severe ongoing anxiety that interferes with daily activities and can last for 15 years or be lifelong. Generalized anxiety disorder can occur at any age. The condition has symptoms similar to panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and other types of anxiety. These symptoms include constant worry, restlessness, and trouble with concentration, fatigue, lightheadedness, or sweating. Other symptoms can include hypervigilance, irritability, or restlessness, severe anxiety, fear, or repeatedly going over thoughts, emotional distress, excessive worry, difficulty falling asleep, headache, nausea, palpitations, or trembling. Generalized anxiety can be treated with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), calming strategies and options for medication of over the counter remedies coordinated by you with your medical doctor.
